LOS ANGELES, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Neve Campbell says she has no interest in starring in a fourth "Scream" movie.
The former star of the television drama "Party of Five" shot to fame playing perpetually imperiled Sidney Prescott in the "Scream" trilogy, a series of smart horror movies some credit for injecting new life into the increasingly mundane slasher-flick genre.
But Campbell, who can be seen now in the dance movie "The Company," says she has no desire to return to Woodsboro, the setting of much of her on-screen terror.
"It took them so much convincing to get me to do 'Scream 2' and 'Scream 3,'" the World Entertainment News Network quotes the actress as saying. "There's no point in doing a 'Scream 4.' It did great things for my career, but it also hindered my career in certain ways. There's just nowhere to go with the character. I mean, they've tried to kill Sidney. She should be in an insane asylum by now!"
