LONDON, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt was given the royal treatment Monday when she opened the traditional winter sale at London's posh Harrods store.

According to the British Web-site Ananova.com, the former "Party of Five" starlet arrived in a horse-drawn carriage at the Knightsbridge department store. She was then met and personally escorted through the emporium by Harrods chairman Mohamed al Fayed, father of the late Dodi, Princess Diana's boyfriend.

Hundreds of people braved pouring rain and eagerly waited outside the store for the sale to begin.
