LOS ANGELES, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Fox TV has added a further twist to reality programming with its new show "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance," FoxNews.com reported Tuesday.
The newest six-episode reality TV entree, which was taped in secrecy, premieres Jan. 19 after the third season of "American Idol" debuts.
The plot revolves around Randi, a 23-year-old schoolteacher who is trying to con her family into believing she is marrying Steve, described as "big, fat and obnoxious," who she supposedly fell in love with when they were both on a reality show.
Steve, living up to the show's name, offends Randi's family every chance he gets, while his own family adds its own shocking antics.
The goal is for Randi to "make it all the way through the wedding ceremony and final 'I do's' in order to win a million dollars," according to a statement released by Fox.
The twist, however, is that, unknown to Randi, Steve and his family are actors.
"The joke is on Randi because ... in actuality, Steve and his TV family are professional actors putting their improv skills to the ultimate test."
