LONDON, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Ozzy Osbourne has been voted the top rock star among Britons according to a Virgin Radio poll, BBC News reported Monday.

In a survey of 3,000 fans, Osbourne, former front man for Black Sabbath, secured the top slot.

Osbourne is recovering in a London hospital from injuries sustained earlier this month from a quad bike accident. He had his first No. 1 song in December with his daughter, Kelly. The patriarch stars, along with his wife and two of his children, in a popular MTV reality show, "The Osbournes."

Justin Hawkins, frontman with The Darkness, came in second in the survey, with U2's singer Bono voted into third place. Robbie Williams and Coldplay's Chris Martin came in fourth and fifth.

Rolling Stone Keith Richards, Beatle Paul McCartney, White Stripes' singer Jack White and Pete Docherty of new British band The Libertines also made the list.
