Affleck blames himself for media frenzy

Dec. 22, 2003 at 2:40 PM   |   Comments

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Ben Affleck told reporters in Los Angeles that he and Jennifer Lopez share the blame for the media frenzy surrounding them, according to Zap2it.com.

"Jen and I made the mistake of making ourselves too available while we were in our first blush," Affleck said in reports published Saturday.

Seemingly every move the couple makes is documented, with a highly publicized wedding called off last summer.

Affleck said he and Lopez are trying to reverse that trend.

"I feel like a snake eating its own tail. All I do is keep getting in this bizarre circular process of doing things and then reading about them; not doing things and then reading about them," he said. "I'm certainly making an effort to be more private."

Affleck is currently promoting his latest film, "Paycheck," which also stars Uma Thurman and Aaron Eckhart, and opens in theaters on Christmas Day.
