Golden Globe nominates top comedies

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- The Hollywood Foreign Press Association nominated "Bend It Like Beckham" and "Finding Nemo" for Golden Globes Thursday.

Also nominated for best musical or comedy motion picture were "Big Fish," "Lost In Translation" and "Love Actually."

Best musical/comedy actress nominations went to Jamie Lee Curtis ("Freaky Friday"), "Scarlett Johansson ("Lost In Translation"), Diane Keaton ("Something's Gotta Give"), Diane Lane ("Under The Tuscan Sun") and Helen Mirren ("Calendar Girls")

Johansson also was nominated for best drama actress for "Girl With A Pearl Earring."

Best musical/comedy actor nominations were given to Jack Black ("School of Rock"), Johnny Depp ("Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl"), Bill Murray ("Lost In Translation"), Jack Nicholson ("Something's Gotta Give") and Billy Bob Thornton ("Bad Santa").

The Golden Globe Awards will air live Jan. 25 on NBC.
