AFI names top 10 movies of 2003

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Blockbusters mingled with little-seen art house movies as the American Film Institute named its choices for the 10 best movies of 2003.

The list included animated hit "Finding Nemo," the box-office champion for the year to date, as well as "American Splendor," an independent film that has grossed just $6 million since its release in August. Oscar contenders "The Last Samurai," "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King," "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World" and "Mystic River" were also included.
