NASHVILLE, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Universal Music Group cut six positions Wednesday from its Nashville operations, Billboard.com reported.
The job losses were from the promotions and marketing departments and affected Sarah Brosmer, vice president, international marketing, who had been with MCA for 17 years; Derek Simon, vice president, marketing for MCA/Lost Highway; Chad Schultz, senior director of Southwest promotion for Mercury; Charlie Dean, director of regional promotion, Midwest, for MCA; Anne Howard, MCA tour coordinator; and Brian Thiele, promotion coordinator for Lost Highway.
The cuts were made to better allocate resources, with plans to add staff to the A&R department in the near future, according to the report.
Artists under the UMG Nashville labels of MCA, Lost Highway and Mercury Records include George Strait, Vince Gill, Reba McEntire and Mark Wills.
