Risky business for Cruise and Ellen

NEW YORK, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Tom Cruise recreated his famous "Risky Business" floor-sliding scene on Ellen DeGeneres' new talk show Wednesday.

In that 1983 film, Cruise played a good kid who gets in trouble while his parents go away and leave him home alone. The most memorable scene, which has been copied and parodied in countless movies and television shows, features Cruise dressed in a shirt, his underwear and sunglasses, sliding across a polished wood floor and stopping in the middle of a doorway to the tune of "Old Time Rock and Roll."

On "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to promote his new flick "The Last Samurai," Cruise granted a request from his hostess and showed he could still slide across the floor with the best of them.

"I'm going to leave my pants on," he quipped before attempting the stunt, to the disappointment of some in the audience. "This is a PG show."

During her interview, the sweet-natured DeGeneres wheedled some personal information out of Cruise, most notably the facts that he prefers briefs over boxers when it comes to underwear, and lives with a menagerie of pets, including fish, turtles, two iguanas and two dogs.
