Gwyneth Paltrow, singer Chris Martin marry

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Grammy-winning Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin are married, according to officials in Santa Barbara County.

An official at county clerk-recorder's office confirmed to UPI Wednesday that the couple had filed a confidential marriage license, indicating that the marriage had taken place. Details such as the time and place of the ceremony are held under seal when a confidential license is filed.

Stephen Huvane, Paltrow's publicist, did not plan to release an announcement, according to an assistant in his Los Angeles office.

Paltrow -- who won the Best Actress Oscar for "Shakespeare in Love" in 1998 -- announced last week that she and Martin are expecting their first child next summer. Her other film credits include "The Talented Mr. Ripley," "Shallow Hal" and her current release, "Sylvia."

Martin and his Coldplay bandmates earned two Grammys in 2002 for their album "A Rush of Blood to the Head," and one in 2001 for "Parachutes."
