ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., Dec. 10 (UPI) -- CNBC announced Wednesday that comedian Dennis Miller's new nightly, one-hour cable talk show will premiere on Jan. 26, 2004.

"Dennis Miller" is scheduled to air Sunday through Friday at 9:00 pm. Eastern time. The cable network said programs currently airing in that time slot, "Special Report with Maria Bartiromo" and "Capital Report with Alan Murray and Gloria Borger," will be moved to 7:00 p.m. ET.

Miller -- a five-time Emmy Award-winner -- gained fame as a cast member of "Saturday Night Live" from 1985-91. He went on to host "Dennis Miller Live" on HBO in 1994.

His new show will highlight his "venting" approach to issues with a "Daily Rorschach," which the network described as "a high-speed blitz of monologue jokes, news photos and videotape clips." The show will also feature topic-specific guests and a panel of journalists, politicians, entertainers and business people.

CNBC President and Chief Executive Officer Pamela Thomas-Graham said the network expects Miller will provide a jolt to its programming.

"Come January, 'Dennis Miller' will bring a new kinetic energy to our primetime lineup," she said.
