LONDON, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Jamaican reggae star Bounty Killer has canceled two U.K. concerts after charges that his songs incite homophobic violence.
Leader of gay rights group OutRage! Peter Tatchell called on Scotland Yard's hate crime unit to investigate lyrics in four Bounty Killer songs calling for gays to be burned, drowned, wiped out, stoned and murdered.
"Bounty Killer has chickened out and dared not show his face. He knows what he is doing is wrong, and he is terrified of facing a gay rights protest. His macho bravado is in ruins," Tatchell said, according to BBC reports.
The concert promoter said the cancellation was due to the performer missing his flight from Jamaica and that effort would be made to reschedule.
