The 61-year-old McCartney, who became a father for the fourth time Tuesday, saw his earnings top $68 million in 2003, up from $59 million a year earlier, CNN reported.
He leads the latest London Sunday Times Pay List of Britain's most affluent pop stars.
McCartney has prospered, as have many other wrinkly rockers, by touring the world and charging their old, affluent and nostalgic fans a fortune for concert tickets, CNN said.
The Times' Top 10 reads like a roll call of veteran rockers. It includes Sting, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart and Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Madonna was the top woman, in sixth place tied with Elton John.
