Fleury, the top overall pick in the 2003 draft, has been solid early in the season but was flawless in this one. He made 20 saves, including a number of spectacular stops in the third period to preserve the slim lead.

Koltsov, Pittsburgh's first-round pick in 1999, put the Penguins in front 4:21 into the second period when he beat Michael Leighton with a wrist shot from the left faceoff circle.
