LOS ANGELES, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Actor-director Fred Savage, known for his TV role as Kevin Arnold in "The Wonder Years," will direct an episode of the new Fox comedy series "Oliver Beene."

Savage will direct an episode written by Stephen Lloyd entitled, "The King and I." In the episode, Oliver's (Grant Rosenmeyer) experiments with a microscope turn him into a hypochondriac while Ted (Andrew Lawrence) dates the daughter of a sporting goods store owner to get the new baseball glove he didn't get for his birthday.

Already a 20-year veteran of the entertainment industry, Savage began a six-year run as Kevin Arnold in 1988 on "The Wonder Years," which focused on a boy growing up in the 1960s and '70s.

"Oliver Beene" is a half-hour comedy series revolving around 11-year-old Oliver Beene, who faces the trials and tribulations of growing up during the Kennedy-era '60s.

The series' season premier date has not yet been announced.
