LOS ANGELES, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Warner Brothers has given Peter and Bobby Farrelly the go-ahead for their revival of The Three Stooges films.
The film, set for 2005 release, will be an adventure that revolves around the Stooges characters originated by Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Jerome "Curly" Howard in the classic comedies, Daily Vareity reported.
The Farrellys spent last winter and spring writing with Mike Cerrone a contemporary script featuring the Moe, Larry and Curly characters.
Sony originally had the feature rights to The Three Stooges but let them lapse, Variety said.
The two brothers wrote and directed the upcoming Fox comedy "Stuck on You," about the adventures of conjoined twins, scheduled to be released Dec. 12.
