LOS ANGELES, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Fox hopes to take a sizeable audience with it when it goes undercover with a drama series project from Director Kathryn Bigelow.
The network has given the green light to the untitled project, a fictional tale inspired by a story in Playboy magazine by Mark Boal about a female cop who went undercover in a small-town high school, the Hollywood Reporter says.
Writers-producers Todd and Glenn Kessler are penning the pilot script. Bigelow, who brought the idea to Imagine TV and Fox, is attached to direct.
"I think what was interesting about the research that Mark Boal did is it gave you a really unique woman in extraordinary position as well as it gave you a little slice of high school life," Executive Producer David Nevins said.
