HOLLYWOOD, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios have optioned Tony Johnston's picture book, "The Iguana Brothers: A Tale of Two Lizards," to develop as a feature film.

The picture will be produced by "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton" chief Robert Luketic; John Leguizamo and his Rebel Films partner Kathleen DeMarco; and Storyopolis president Fonda Snyder.

Jeremy Pikser is adapting the children's book for the screen and Leguizamo will star in one of the voice roles, Daily Variety reported Monday.

Johnston's book follows the humorous adventures of a pair of iguanas, Tom and Dom, who do such things as give up their bug diet to eat flowers, take siestas in the sun and learn the meaning of friendship.

Fox Animation president Chris Meledandri is spearheading the project, with execs John Cohen and Lisa Fragner overseeing for Fox and Blue Sky Studios.
