Reality TV awards show planned

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- ABC and Emmy producer Don Mischer are preparing the first network awards show devoted to reality TV, according to Daily Variety.

With the unscripted genre showing no signs of slowing down, ABC has contracted with Mischer to produce a two-hour awards show that will honor both the producers of and participants in reality TV. A blue-ribbon industry panel will select nominees, with viewers choosing winners via the Web and other means.
