NEW YORK, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Country teen idol LeAnn Rimes is coming of age, turning 21 Thursday and is in New York to launch the release of "Jag."
Dutton Children's Books is publishing the work Rimes wrote with husband Dean Sheremet. The two will celebrate her birthday at an intimate party in New York with friends and family.
"Jag," a small jaguar with a big roar, is a story about resisting peer pressure, making good choices and trying new things. Jag has a secret that's making her a target for teasing at school. The book was illustrated by the award-winning Richard Bernal.
Rimes has the lead single to "Legally Blonde 2," "We Can," written by Diane Warren, and will release a Christmas album next month.
Since bursting onto the scene at age 13 and earning two Grammy Awards for "Blue," her major label debut, Rimes has become one of the biggest stars in country music. Her most recent album is 2002''s "Twisted Angel."
