Roseanne Barr to have surgery

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Roseanne Barr is expected to undergo a hysterectomy this week, ending plans for a show this fall and threatening her current reality series.

The 51-year-old actor's health problems come after poor reviews and low ratings for her reality show, ABC's "The Real Roseanne." That show follows the performer as she goes about making a new cooking-themed comedy series for the ABC Family Channel, "Domestic Goddess."

ABC had been scheduled to air two 30-minute episodes of "The Real Roseanne Show" each Wednesday night leading up to the previously planned Sept. 20 launch of "Domestic Goddess" on ABC Family.

With the ABC Family show canceled, network officials are discussing whether to pull the reality show as well, the New York Daily News reported.
