George gets 6 Latin Grammy nods

MIAMI, July 22 (UPI) -- Composer, arranger, musician Sergio George Tuesday picked up six nominations, making him the leading contender in the fourth annual Latin Grammy Awards, set for Sept. 3 in Miami.

Four-time winner Juanes and Gustavo Santaolalla each received five nominations, and Natalia LaFourcade and Anibal Kerpel earned four apiece.

Among George's nominations were record, song and album of the year. He is vying against Juanes for record and song of the year.

Other nominees for album of the year are Ruben Blades, Alexandre Pires and Tribalistas. Also up for record of the year are Luis Miguel, Molotov and Tribalistas.

David Bisbal, Tiziano Ferro, Natalia Lafourcade, Fernanda Porto and Alex Ubago were nominated for best new artist.
