LOS ANGELES, July 9 (UPI) -- Kelly Rowland, one-third of Destiny's Child, is in final negotiations to star opposite Duane Martin in "The Seat Filler."

The indie feature, directed by Nick Castle, goes into production Saturday in Los Angeles with Nia Hill, D'Angela Steed and Martin producing.

"Filler" will see Martin, who also co-wrote the project with Mark Brown and Tisha Campbell-Martin, star as Derrick, a struggling, unemployed man who is studying for the bar exam. To make ends meet, he works as a seat filler for various awards ceremonies.

While occupying the seat of a high-powered entertainment attorney, Derrick meets his dream girl, Jhnelle (Rowland), a gorgeous superstar who is performing at the event. Of course, they fall in love but there are rocky roads ahead.
