$25 Million suit against Puffy Combs

NEW YORK, July 1 (UPI) -- A former friend and business partner has sued Sean "Puffy" Combs, saying the rap star once threatened him with a baseball bat.

Kirk Burrowes also claims Combs cheated him out of $25 million.

Burrowes said Combs brandished the bat in 1996 and forced him to sign over a 25 percent interest in Bad Boy Entertainment, the rap conglomerate run by Combs.

Burrowes said his buddy apologized -- but later reneged on promises to make good on profit sharing.

"Kirk just wants Sean to realize the value he had in making Sean what he is today and to do the right thing," said John Bostany, Burrowes' lawyer.

Burrowes, 40, also said he was improperly fired as president of Bad Boy Entertainment and that Combs spiked his management deal with rap diva Mary J. Blige.

The New York Daily News says he filed the civil racketeering suit in Manhattan Federal Court against Combs, Bad Boy Entertainment and Kenneth Meiselas, a Bad Boy lawyer.
