PRAGUE, Czech Republic, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Local Czech energy conglomerate KKCG is looking to break into the global natural gas market by expanding its storage and sales activities.
KKCG owns and operates the natural resources mining firm Moravske Naftove Doly in the eastern Moravia region, giving it a history of mining and surveying activity. Its expansion into storage and sales is novel for the company, The Prague Post said Thursday.
"Until now, KKCG Oil & Gas primarily focused on surveying and mining oil and natural gas deposits," said board member Miroslav Jestrabek. "In the future, we plan to expand our activities into the storage and sale of natural gas."
KKCG has brought Radek Lucky and Michal Slaby in from the German energy conglomerate E.ON to serve as the top managers to oversee the expansion.
"The purpose of this new team is to develop natural gas storage and sales activities, mainly abroad," Lucky said.
