ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, July 8 (UPI) -- ConocoPhillips and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. Tuesday reached a temporary deal to develop the Shah gas field, officials said.
The interim deal outlines the creation of a new company to operate the field with ConocoPhillips holding a 40 percent share in the venture and ADNOC holding the remaining 60 percent share, the Emirates News Agency reported.
The project focuses on developing sour gas reserves in the Shah field, officials said.
Projects include gas-gathering systems and processing facilities to handle around 1 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day.
ADNOC and ConocoPhillips expect to finalize the details of the arrangement by the end of the year.
