VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Canada-based Eden Energy Ltd. announced plans to install and supply the first public hydrogen fueling station in India.

Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Hythane Company LLC, Eden was selected by Indian Oil Corp. The $1 million retail outlet will be located in the heart of New Delhi at one of India's busiest natural gas fueling stations.

The pump is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2008 and the station will produce, store, blend and dispense Hythane as well as hydrogen to power natural gas vehicles, including buses, cars and trucks.

Hythane is a patented mixture of hydrogen and natural gas that provides a dramatic reduction in nitrous oxide emissions, a source of harmful photochemical smog.

"India's first hydrogen fueling station will be a showcase for public access to this environmentally beneficial alternative fuel," said Eden Energy's Executive Chairman Greg Solomon. "We expect to expand here rapidly to present a model to the world in which Hythane is the fuel of choice in a thriving hydrogen economy."
