Ukraine meets gas transport duties

KIEV, Ukraine, July 14 (UPI) -- Ukrainian national oil and gas company Naftohaz Ukrayiny is meeting all of its transit commitments to Europe, head of the company said Friday.

Company board chairman Oleksandr Bolkisev told journalists in Kharkiv Region that Naftohaz is meeting all of its requirements in terms of transporting oil and gas to Europe, UNIAN news agency reported.

"Our gas transport system can reliably provide Europe with gas," said Bolkisev.

Naftohaz's daughter company Ukrtanshaz (Ukrainian Gas Transport) holds a monopoly in pumping gas from Russia to the 25-member bloc of the European Union. It transports 90 percent of Russian gas exports.
