NEW DELHI, March 20 (UPI) -- India will set up 13 integrated posts along borders to prevent infiltration and tighten security, the Interior Ministry said Thursday.
The ministry said the Cabinet Committee on Security approved the move along India's borders with Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Myanmar.
Junior Interior Minister Radhika Selvi' title='V. Radhika Selvi' class='tpstyle'>V. Radhika Selvi said the Cabinet panel directed that the best elements of public-private partnership be integrated in the proposal.
The move came after the panel reviewed the security situation at the borders, she said.
Top officials of the Foreign and Interior ministries also recommended setting up more integrated posts at the border to stem the flow of militants.
Selvi said the ministry was taking follow-up action to obtain approval from the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, which grants budgetary approval.
