Donald Trump fashions in the works

NEW YORK, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Donald Trump, hoping to capitalize on the TV success of "The Apprentice," is launching his own line of men's fashions.

The Trump Signature Collection, bearing the business mogul's family crest, will feature men's suits, coats, slacks and, possibly, golfing gear, the New York Daily News said Monday.

"This will be high-end men's wear. We already have tremendous interest," Trump said.

The fashion line is the brainchild of Sheldon Brody, chairman of Marcraft Clothes, who said Trump will have input on the clothes designs, which will include the three-button, side-vented jacket that Trump prefers.

Suits reportedly will retail for $575.

Brody has manufactured clothing for Albert Nipon, Evan Picone and Russell Simmons' Phat Farm line.

"Trump is really an icon for the 19- to 38-year-old person who is either starting a business career or who is aspiring to be successful," Brody said.
