SCHAUMBURG, Ill., June 27 (UPI) -- Sparton Corporation reports it has been honored by Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems as a Supplier of Excellence.

The recognition was bestowed earlier this month at a ceremony in Massachusetts. It is granted to companies on the basis of quality of products and services, on-time delivery and demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.

Sparton is a designer and manufacturer of electronic and electromechanical devices. The company's facility in Plaistow, NH, facility supplies sub-assemblies for the Patriot Air and Missile Defense System, Zumwalt-class destroyer, and THAAD radar systems programs.

"We are honored to have received this prestigious award again this year," said Sparton Corporation's Group Vice-President of Mil/Aero Manufacturing Services Jamie Shaddix.

"Raytheon is an important part of our nation's security and we are proud to be a contributor to a service so vital to the American public."

Sparton Corporation was one of 15 Raytheon suppliers to receive the recognition, it said.
