Airbus Helicopters has announced its Chilean subsidiary reports $54 million in helicopter sales at the FIDAE 2014 air show last week in Chile.
The Bolivian Air Force ordered two EC145 aircraft from for government transport duties and emergency missions from Airbus Helicopters Cono Sur, with contracts inclusive of pilot training, technical assistance and a logistic package of tools and spare parts to be provided by Airbus Helicopters.
The Bolivian Air Force flies two EC145s it received in 2012. Last year the Bolivian military ordered six of the company’s AS332 C1e Super Puma helicopters.
The EC145 is a twin-engine utility helicopter that can carry 11 people, including crew. It has a cruise speed of 153 miles per hour and a range of 426 miles. It’s flown by the militaries of three countries and by law enforcement and security organizations in eleven others. The Super Puma is also a utility helicopter flown around the world.
Airbus Helicopters said that during the exhibition in Chile, the Ministry of Security of Buenos Aires Province in Argentina ordered a AS350 B3 light helicopter for surveillance and rescue operations, while a private Peruvian organization ordered two EC145s and one EC155 B1 to be used in the country’s energy sector.
The sales “confirm our helicopter product line continues to meet the demanding operational requirements in this region of the world, which results from the capabilities of Airbus Helicopters’ current rotorcraft families and the constant evolution of our product line,” said Alexandre Ceccacci, the chief executive officer of Airbus Helicopters Cono Sur.
Airbus Helicopters Cono Sur is responsible for sales and service in Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru and Uruguay, where nearly 300 Airbus Helicopters are in service.
