WALTHAM, Mass., March 25 (UPI) -- Raytheon is restructuring its business areas as of April 1 to streamline operations, enhance productivity and improve customer alignment.
The consolidation will result in four business areas: Intelligence, Information and Services, which combines the previous Intelligence and Information Systems and Raytheon Technical Services businesses.
The other three areas are the Integrated Defense Systems, Missile Systems and Space and Airborne Systems businesses. Each will be expanded by the realignment of the former Network Centric Systems business, the company said.
"Our new structure will help us enhance productivity, agility and affordability in a challenging defense and aerospace market environment," said William H. Swanson, Raytheon's chairman and chief executive officer.
Leading the consolidation is Thomas A. Kennedy, formerly the vice president of Raytheon. Kennedy is Raytheon's executive vice president and chief operating officer. His duties will include long-range planning and developing and implementing customer engagement strategies.
