New cybersecurity software on market

MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 17 (UPI) -- SAIC's California subsidiary CloudShield Technologies Inc. has launched new software to help detect and mitigate malicious attacks on computer networks.

The product, called CloudSentry, leverages the CloudShield cybersecurity platform, a market leader in deep packet inspection capability. CloudShield works in line, in real time, to control network traffic at multi-gigabit speeds and addresses threats such as botnets, malware, phishing and spam.

"CloudSentry provides the advanced threat mitigation needed to meet adversaries head on in today's most demanding network environments," said Matt Jones, president of CloudShield. "It advances CloudShield's existing cybersecurity platform with an application approach to offer innovative and efficient solutions addressing the complex security challenges facing the cyber community."

Science Applications International Corp., which has headquarters in Virginia, said CloudShield's software is designed to protect the mission critical infrastructure of Tier One telecommunications companies, internet service providers, and national governments, and provides carrier-class converged threat solutions.

Additional details of the product weren't immediately available.
