DynCorp to support Navy pilot training

DynCorp International receives Navy contract for trainer aircraft support services.

MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 22 (UPI) -- DynCorp International reports it is to provide aircraft maintenance and logistics support to the Chief of Naval Training.

Under a new contract from the Naval Air Systems Command, the work will comprise organizational, intermediate, depot-level maintenance and logistics services for T-34, T-44 and T-6 aircraft. Support services -- such as labor, services, facilities, equipment, tools, related support equipment and direct and indirect material -- will also be provided.

"DynCorp International has been a trusted partner to the U.S. Navy for more than 20 years, a tradition we will build on with this new work," said James Myles, DynAviation senior vice president, DynCorp International. "We look forward to continuing to serve our Navy customers and supporting the vital mission of the chief of Naval Air Training. Winning this program also significantly increases our Navy market share, a key strategic goal."

The firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery contract has a one-year period of performance with four, one-year options. It carries a potential value of $443.3 million.

DynCorp said it will perform its work at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, Texas; NAS Whiting Field, Fla.; NAS Pensacola, Fla.; and at other locations within the country.
