Pakistan bombing

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Three members of the U.S. military were among at least 10 people killed in a bombing near a school in northwestern Pakistan.

Dozens of people, including more than 60 schoolgirls and other U.S. personnel, were injured in the attack in the village of Koto.

Many of the victims were said to be in a convoy headed toward opening ceremonies at another school when the bomb went off. The U.S. military personnel are thought to have been in the area serving as trainers for Pakistani forces.

The region is known to be a Taliban stronghold and that group often attacks schools meant for girls.
