PRINCETON, N.J., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are the most admired man and woman in the United States, a Gallup Poll indicates.
Obama was the choice of 30 percent of the 1,025 people in the United States asked whom they admired. The poll was conducted Dec. 11-13 and has a sampling error of 4 percentage points.
Obama was also the "most-admired" last year. Former U.S. President George W. Bush was second to Obama again after topping the poll each year from 2001-07. Former South African President Nelson Mandela, television personality Glenn Beck and Pope Benedict XVI are also among those deemed "most admired" by respondents.
Clinton has been the country's "Most Admired Woman" 14 times since 1983. This year she topped the list with 16 percent support, just ahead of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (15 percent).
Other women near the top are talk-show host Oprah Winfrey, first lady Michele Obama and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Gallup said.
