Charles Barkley says he wants to 'kill' Skip Bayless, 'beat him like a dog'

March 24 (UPI) -- It would take a terminal illness, but Charles Barkley is aiming at Skip Bayless for his next tussle.

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer told Dan Patrick that he wants to "kill" the Fox Sports 1 mouthpiece in an appearance Thursday on the Dan Patrick Show.

"You know what we should do for ratings? If I get a disease and I'm gonna die, how about you get Skip Bayless in here and I'll kill him live on national television."

"I like it. Like pay-per-view," Patrick responded.

"No, no, no. Just get him in here," Barkley said. "Only when I know Imma die...Cause I just want to get Skip Bayless in a room one time and beat him like a dog."

"So you'd kill him," Patrick asked.

"Yes. Only if I knew I was gonna die," Barkley said. "Not if I'm gonna live, cause I don't wanna go to prison. Cause like Mahorn say, 'they would love you in prison.'"

Barkley also talked about Michael Jordan's gambling habits during the interview. The talking head and TNT basketball analyst has been in his fair share of tiffs this year, including an ongoing feud with LeBron James and LaVar Ball.

The former feud led James to say "screw Charles Barkley" during an interview last month. James also brought up Barkley's criminal history.

"I'm not going to let him disrespect my legacy like that," James told ESPN. "I'm not the one who threw somebody through a window. I never spit on a kid. I never had unpaid debt in Las Vegas. I never said, 'I'm not a role model.' I never showed up to All-Star Weekend on Sunday because I was in Vegas all weekend partying."

"All I've done for my entire career is represent the NBA the right way. Fourteen years, never got in trouble. Respected the game. Print that."

James was prompted by Barkley's criticism after he asked Cleveland Cavaliers ownership to add more playmakers to his roster.

Barkley, 54, was the 1992 NBA MVP. He was an 11-time All-Star and All-NBA selection.
