BILLERICA, Mass., Jan. 13 (UPI) -- MorphoTrust, the sole pre-enrollment provider for the TSA Pre✓ program, says more than two million people are now part of the traveler screening project.

Demand of enrollment is increasing, it said, with a 50 percent increase in enrollment checks last year.

The TSA Pre✓ is a program by the Transportation Security Administration for expedited inspection of travelers at airports. Those holding a TSA Pre✓Known Traveler Number moves more quickly through the passenger screening process since they are not required remove shoes, laptops, liquids, belts or light jackets at security checkpoints.

To apply to become part of the program an applicant must go to a MorphoTrust IdentoGO center, where their biographical information, fingerprints and documentation are verified. The data is then sent to the TSA.

MorphoTrust says to meet increasing demand it is expanding hours of operation at its 355 centers, launching a mobile enrollment program for businesses and other organizations, and opening new enrollment locations through partnerships with companies such as H&R Block.
