First Airbus Super Puma helicopter delivered to Mali: Report

Helicopter officially received by defense minister Oct. 17, Jane's Defense reports.

PARIS, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Airbus has delivered its first H215 Super Puma helicopter to Mali's air force, Jane's Defense reported Thursday.

Mali's military officially received the aircraft on Oct. 17 during a ceremony at an air base located at the Bamako airport, Jane's reported.

It was the first of two Super Pumas that Mali ordered, with the second slated to be delivered in the coming months.

Mali ordered the choppers for logistics and troop transport, Jane's reports.

The H215 is a twin-engine, heavy lift helicopter that is offered in a multi-role operational design and one for aerial work and utility duties.
