Boeing gets $81 million Harpoon missile contract modification

Deal covers the procurement of 22 missiles for the Indian government.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Boeing has been awarded an $81 million contract modification involving the procurement of Harpoon missiles for the government of India.

An option exercised on the previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract is for the procurement of 22 Lot 89 Harpoon missiles, as well as associated containers and components under the foreign military sales program.

Work will be performed in Missouri, the United Kingdom, Texas, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, California, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. The estimated completion date is June 2018.

Naval Air Systems Command is the contracting activity.

The Harpoon is an all-weather, over-the-horizon, anti-ship missile system.
