KIEV, Ukraine, July 21 (UPI) -- The Ukrainian military has taken custody of 10 Dozor-B armored vehicles, the Ukroboronprom defense concern announced Wednesday.

The military has accepted the fighting vehicles, which are ready to use without any restrictions, the company said in a statement.

The modern armored vehicle can carry 10 troops and offers protection from armor-piercing bullets, shrapnel, mines, chemical and radiological attacks.

It also features a BPU-12.7 machine gun installation, with night vision equipment, as well as an NSVT 12.7 machine gun that features an optical monocular periscope sight.

The vehicle can engage troops, lightly armored equipment and air threats flying at subsonic speeds.

Its 4x4 array can fulfill medical, reconnaissance and command functions and can hit speeds of more than 60 mph.

Ukroboronprom says it can manufacture more than 100 Dozor-Bs a year, continuing to adapt NATO standards.
