Israeli company to service Pratt & Whitney engines on fighters

Pratt & Whitney has signed a 15-year deal for the servicing of F100 229 engines on Israeli Air Force planes by an Israeli company.

GEDERA, Israel, March 16 (UPI) -- Turbochrome Ltd. of Israel is to provide certain repair services on Pratt & Whitney F-100 229 engines installed on Israeli Air Force F-15I and F-16I fighters.

Turbochrome is a subsidiary of TAT Technologies, and the 15-year agreement follows a recent Pratt & Whitney announcement that it will provide full propulsion sustainment support -- including material forecasting, item repair management, and provisioning of operational, intermediate and depot-level spare parts -- for the IAF's full fleet of F100-PW-229 engines.

"We are proud of this new agreement between Pratt & Whitney and Turbochrome," said TAT President and CEO Itsik Maaravi. "This contract strengthens our relationship with Pratt & Whitney, and our position as provider of products and services to the commercial and military aerospace sectors."

The estimated value of the contract was not provided.
