LAS VEGAS, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- The Safariland Group revealed its new armor collection consisting of ballistic panels and carriers at the 2016 SHOT Show in Las Vegas.

The new armor collection, designed for a variety of security personnel, is designed to integrate together and move and flex with the body of the wearer. The company says the material used to build the armor provides increased mobility and protection.

"For us, success is every saved life," Safariland Armor vice president Todd Mackler said in a statement. "Forming a holistic system, we are taking armor to the next level of performance. Every detail has been considered: scalability, durability, affordability, and comfort to meet the demanding needs of both male and female officers."

The company's armor collection comes in both concealable and overt carrier groups. The concealable armors, known as Covert, are comprised of lightweight fabrics and contoured stitch lines. The Overt carrier groups are worn externally. Models such as the V1 and U1 come with a hidden gun pocket.

The SHOT Show is the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show held in Las Vegas from January 19 through January 22. The conference features firearms, ammunition and shooting accessories.
