Army support task order given to VS2

VS2 is to provide operations and logistics support to the U.S. Army at Fort Benning, Ga., under an EAGLE program task order.

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 21 (UPI) -- Support for base operations and logistics at Fort Benning in Georgia are to be provided by VS2 LLC, a joint venture company of VSE and CB&I Federal Services.

Under the task order – awarded through the Enhanced Army Global Logistics Enterprise Program -- VS2 will provide on-site contractor logistics support in the areas of material maintenance, supply services, ammunition services, transportation, and associated logistics analysis and management functions.

"The VS2 Team was formed specifically to provide mission-ready responsive logistics in support of various Army installations under the EAGLE contract, including Fort Benning," said Maurice "Mo" Gauthier, VSE President, chief executive officer and chief operations officer. "Our proven leaders, systems, and services are designed to enhance customer service, strengthen performance accountability, reduce costs, and eliminate redundancies to ensure the success of the men and women at Fort Benning.

VSE said members of VS2's team on the contract include Advanced Technology Logistics Inc.; Bering Straits Logistics Services LLC; DA Defense Logistics; and The Logistics Company.

The task order has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and one six-month option. The task order's potential value to VS2, if all options are exercised, is about $110 million.
