Owens, chairman and chief executive offficer of GovPlanet's parent company, IronPlanet. "With our nearly 15 years of online auction experience and a worldwide audience of more than one million registered users, we are looking forward to making it easier than ever to buy and sell used government equipment online."

More than 175 items are for sale on Nov. 19 and can now be previewed at the company website, GovPlanet.com. Each item listed includes its inspection report with a description of the equipment's condition and features.

Auctions of surplus DOD items are also scheduled for December, with online viewings available two-weeks prior to the event.
