Meggitt selected for live-fire range systems

Live-fire range systems for a new firearm and ammunition testing is being provided to Remington Outdoor Company by Meggitt Training Systems.

SUWANEE, Ga., Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Meggitt Training Systems is providing live-fire range systems for firearm and ammunition research and development testing by Remington Outdoor.

Remington will utilize the systems at a 900,000 square-foot facility it plans to build in Huntsville, Ala. "Our team is intent on transforming our new world-class facility and campus in Huntsville into a manufacturing center of excellence by partnering with the best innovators in their fields," said Kevin Miniard, chief operating officer, Remington Outdoor Company. "Meggitt's expertise in high-performance simulation is unmatched, which makes them the perfect partner to help us design and build a cutting-edge testing facility outfitted with the latest technology."

The contract to Meggitt was issued by Burns & McDonnell, the company that will design and manage the construction of the new Remington Outdoor Company facility.

Meggitt will provide multiple LE5000E Steel Escalator bullet traps, GranTrap granulated rubber bullet traps, and the XWT Gen3 Wireless Target Retrieval Systems using the new RangeMaster Control System with wireless master control capabilities.
