ARLINGTON, Va., July 21 (UPI) -- International contracts worth $220 million to provide medium-caliber cannons and aftermarket services have been received by ATK.

The Virginia-headquartered company did not identify the countries contracting their services -- it only identified them as U.S. allies.

"Providing defensive weapons systems and support services to our country's allies is at the core of our international business and represents important growth across many of our key products," said Mike Kahn, senior vice president and president of ATK's Defense Group. "ATK brings experience, innovation and value to its customers, earned from its unique position in the defense industry as a systems designer, manufacturer and maintainer."

The company indicated that the weapons it will supply will be its Bushmaster chain gun and Automatic Cannon system which can be integrated aboard a variety of land, sea and air platforms.

The company added that its full product lifecycle support offers customizable programs for integrated logistics, OEM-quality spares, training, field service support, repair, and remanufacturing capabilities for its entire line of Bushmaster chain guns and cannons.

Additional details of the awards, including delivery schedules, were not disclosed.
