IT companies plan acquisition deal

A deal is in the works for Preferred Systems Solutions to acquire Envision Technical Services, a move that will enhance its position in providing IT services to the U.S. national security community.

TYSONS CORNER, Va., June 11 (UPI) -- IT company Preferred Systems Solutions is acquiring Envision Technical Services, enhancing its offerings to the national security community.

Terms of the proposed transaction and the expected closing date of the deal were not disclosed.

"PSS is committed to providing best-in-class support to the men and women charged with upholding our national security," said Scott Goss, president and chief executive officer of PSS. "The acquisition of ETS brings a 22-year track record of outstanding customer support within the intelligence and defense communities, and expands our commitment to those men and women."

PSS customers include the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, the Defense Logistics Agency, U.S. Transportation Command, and the United States Department of Homeland Security and Department of State. ETS specializes in supporting mission-critical IT systems and applications for intelligence and defense customers.

"We are excited to be joining the PSS team," said Joe Rexrode, current president and chief executive of ETS. "The combination will broaden our offerings to our customers and allow us to pursue new opportunities on a larger scale."

Upon completion of the acquisition, Rexrode will become a senior vice president with PSS.
