LOWELL, Mass., June 5 (UPI) -- A facility of M/A-COM Technology Solutions, or MACOM, has been designated a trusted manufacturer of integrated circuits for U.S. military applications.
The Category 1A Trusted Foundry designation for the wafer facility in Lowell, Mass., was granted by the Department of Defense and means its products can be used for classified and unclassified equipment.
The designation ensures the trustworthiness of electronic components used for critical national security systems and is granted when a company facility meets stringent requirements that span chain of custody assurance, supply continuity, and anti-tampering and anti-reverse engineering measures.
"Today's customers demand supply options as the RF and microwave industry faces increased consolidation," said Suja Ramnath, senior vice president and general manager of MACOM.
"Receiving Trusted Foundry accreditation reinforces MACOM's experience, commitment and expertise in servicing the aerospace and defense market.
